Sr. Site Reliability Engineer - What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming and optimizing our technology infrastructure to support our next phase of growth and innovation. Specifically, you will:

Lead the migration from Google Compute Engine (GCE) to a Docker-centric environment, paving the way for a seamless transition to Kubernetes, enhancing our deployment processes and system scalability.
Spearhead efforts to significantly reduce technical debt by replacing in-house deployment scripts with robust, Docker-based solutions, streamlining our deployment pipeline.
Tackle complex development, automation, and business process problems using technologies such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS (GCE, Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, PubSub, BigQuery, Cloud DNS), Linux, Apache, Puma, databases, Puppet, Ansible, Splunk, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Terraform
Develop build, test and deployment automation that seamlessly targets multiple GCP regions.
Enlighten, enable, and empower a fast-growing set of multi-disciplinary teams across multiple applications and locations.
Work with the development and product team of all new and existing applications to establish the right monitoring and alerting strategy.
Help a development team working on a legacy code base to realize zero-down-time deployments and automate all the things!

Profound experience in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, with a track record of successful migrations from traditional VM-based environments.
Experience with CI/CD tools, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Cloud Build, and a deep understanding of automation best practices in build, test, and deployment processes.
Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCE, Kubernetes, Filestore), and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).
Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python (both 2.x and 3.x) and experience in modernizing legacy codebases.
A commitment to reducing technical debt, demonstrated by experience in simplifying and standardizing deployment processes and infrastructure management.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and technologies.
