The Accounts Receivable Analyst – Cash Application & Collections is responsible for the accurate and timely application of customer payments and the proactive management of accounts receivable balances for the U.S. market. This role supports cash flow optimization, minimizes delinquent balances, resolves payment discrepancies, and maintains strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Application

Process and apply customer payments accurately and timely within established service level expectations.
Perform daily cash application activities, including checks, wire transfers, ACH payments, lockbox transactions, and other payment methods.
Research and resolve unapplied and unidentified cash receipts.
Reconcile customer payments against open invoices and account balances.
Investigate payment discrepancies, short pays, duplicate payments, deductions, and overpayments.
Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Support month-end close activities related to Accounts Receivable and cash application processes.
Monitor and manage unapplied cash balances and aging items.
Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and established procedures.

Collections

Monitor customer accounts to identify past-due balances and collection opportunities.
Contact customers via email and phone to collect outstanding balances.
Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on risk and delinquency.
Investigate and resolve disputes, billing issues, and payment-related inquiries.
Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Contracts, and other internal teams to resolve collection barriers.
Maintain accurate collection notes and customer communication records.
Escalate high-risk accounts and significant delinquency issues as appropriate.
Support reduction of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and achievement of collection targets.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships while balancing collection objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, Collections, Customer Accounts, Shared Services, or Finance Operations.
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Customer service and relationship management skills.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, Oracle, or similar financial systems.
Experience performing account reconciliations, payment research, and collection activities.
Experience supporting U.S. customers or working in a multinational environment.
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable metrics such as DSO, Aging, Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI), and unapplied cash management.
