Quality Control Scientist

Invenia Group is partnered with a manufacturer of scientific reagents, instruments and services that are being used to accelerate scientific discovery. We are looking to hire a Senior QC Scientist to join their team in San Jose, CA. Candidates will join a stable company that values their employees and develops their skills and careers.

The Role:

• The Senior QC Scientist is primarily responsible to perform quality control on complex products and instruments in compliance with all applicable regulations and ISO 13485 standards.
• The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal cross-functional teams and help external customer to develop OEM products, this focuses on their Sequencing and Reproductive Health portfolios.

Responsibilities:

• Testing products
• Oversee the transfer of new products into the QC workflow, resolve problems, improve processes, and manage QC stocks.
• Develop and document quality processes for the company’s instruments and reagents
• Plan, manage and prioritise multiple projects. Communicate regular updates on the projects to the wider organisation
• Help R&D to launch new products on time
• Identify risk management activities where possible and provide suggestions to mitigate risk
• Write work instructions and SOPs related to product testing or QC processes
• Acts a a knowledge expert to the wider company, especially during product launch and troubleshooting process
• Lead CAPA projects (or work closely with Quality Assurance) related to product quality or non-conformities and investigate customer complaints.
• This position may have supervisory responsibilities.

What we are looking for:

• Advanced degree in a scientific discipline with a strong background in molecular or cell biology. Prior experience with PCR & lab automation is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a biotech or pharma with relevant work experience within a quality control team.
• Hands-on experience with NGS and DNA/RNA molecular biology is required.

Package

• Salary is $130,000 – $150,000 per year depending on experience plus company bonus and full benefits.
