Interior Designer

Role Summary
We are seeking a full-time creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for design, a passion for eco-friendly materials, and the ability to translate client needs into dynamic and functional spaces. This role is pivotal in our commitment to delivering projects that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally conscious, reflecting our core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting Design Director
- Help in developing interior design concepts.
- Assist with research and sourcing of materials, furniture, and fixtures.
- Conduct a market analysis and build a large material, finishes, and FF&E library.
- Research a new software to use for the materials library.
- Prepare presentations and mood boards for approval.
- Drafting and Rendering:
- Create technical drawings for furniture, lighting, and detailed floor plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Produce 3D visualizations and renderings to help clients visualize the finished space.
- Project Documentation:
- Maintain and organize project files, schedules, and specifications.
- Document design processes and decisions for official records and presentations.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain samples and product information.
- Communicate with contractors and architects to understand and implement design specifications correctly.
- Site Visits:
- Accompany the Design director’s on-site visits to review the ongoing project progress.
- Assist in the supervision of installations and the arrangement of furnishings and décor.
- Research and Trends:
- Stay updated with the latest trends in interior design, materials, and technologies.
- Research sustainable and innovative design solutions that can be integrated into projects.
- Sample Management:
- Manage the library of design resources like fabric swatches, catalogs, and samples.
- Organize and maintain sample libraries and design resources.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and InDesign.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous projects. From beginning to end.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Ideal candidate lives locally in Nosara but all applications will be considered.
- Passion and experience for sustainability
Portfolio requirements:
The portfolio is a key component of your application. We hope to learn more about you through your submission. Your portfolio should show your level of preparedness, but more importantly, your array of skills in the interior design field. In other words, show your creative process and abilities. We welcome examples of work done in a range of media/software, which can include Photoshop, AutoCAD (2D and 3D models), SketchUp, Photography, InDesign client presentations, Moodboards, etc. The most important thing to include in a portfolio is you. Make sure that what you share is work that is meaningful to you, that shares your voice (or design aesthetics), your perspective, your interests, your sensibilities, and your story as an interior designer.
