Business Analyst - Controlling (GFS Americas)

AstraZeneca seeks a Business Analyst for its Global Financial Services team in San Jose, Costa Rica, supporting manufacturing and quality site finance operations. The role involves monthly close activities, variance analysis, financial reporting, and planning cycle execution across biologics and small molecules regions.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly journal entries including accruals, reclasses, deferrals, and variance releases for manufacturing
- Execute month-end close activities, financial reporting, and variance analysis with management commentary
- Analyze manufacturing, manpower, opex, logistics, capex, and inventory variances monthly or weekly
- Execute planning cycle processes including forecasting and variation analysis per AstraZeneca guidelines
- Perform SOX and non-SOX month-end close controls and support external/internal audit requirements
Requirements
- 4+ years accounting, cost accounting, or FP&A experience
- Strong English proficiency, verbal and written, for financial communication
- Experience in three core operations processes: manufacturing, site cost, product costing, inventory, or capex
- Proficiency with SAP, BW (SOAR), and Planning Hub (Oracle) systems
- Knowledge of accounting fundamentals and finance processes
- Self-motivation and strong teamwork commitment
