Principal Engineer

Edwards Lifesciences seeks a Principal Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes at their Costa Rica wet plant facility. The role involves leading process improvements, managing complex experiments, overseeing technical teams, and resolving manufacturing and compliance issues for cardiovascular medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Lead identification and implementation of manufacturing process optimization using LEAN and Six Sigma methods
- Design and execute complex experiments to qualify and validate manufacturing processes; analyze results and develop reports
- Train and coach engineering staff on procedures; oversee manufacturing support tasks and provide feedback
- Lead project planning efforts using project management tools to ensure customer expectations are met
- Analyze and resolve manufacturing and compliance issues including CAPAs and non-conformances
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific field with 6+ years industry experience
- Master's degree in engineering or scientific field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; CAD experience preferred
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence organizational change
- Knowledge of clean room medical device manufacturing and quality guidelines
- Professional communication skills across all organizational levels
