Role Purpose:
The Global Business Project Organization (BPO) Department of DHL Express Costa Rica is looking for a Senior Specialist Professional Project Manager.
Based in Heredia, this role is responsible for leading end-to-end projects with regional and/or global scope, ensuring successful delivery in terms of time, cost, quality, and benefits realization. The role requires strong alignment with business objectives, governance frameworks, and project management best practices while working across multiple functions such as Finance, Operations, Pricing, and Sales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute project plans, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with defined quality standards, acting as the End-to-End owner of project management plans and processes.
- Lead end-to-end projects, managing resources, timelines, risks, dependencies, changes, and overall delivery accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project milestones, KPIs, and overall performance, providing status updates, tracking progress against the plan, and highlighting deviations to stakeholders and steering committees.
- Identify, analyze, mitigate, and resolve project risks and operational issues, ensuring timely implementation of action plans and minimizing delivery delays.
- Manage project budgets, identifying, tracking, and escalating financial deviations as needed.
- Act as the primary liaison between business units, functional leaders, and local, regional, and global project teams, proactively seeking feedback and aligning stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment, measurement, and realization of project benefits through effective tracking mechanisms and performance evaluation.
- Analyze business processes to identify opportunities, define solutions, and prioritize projects based on business impact and relevant criteria.
- Present project plans and status updates to Project Boards/Steering Committees to support alignment, decision-making, and governance.
- Define project resources, oversee team performance, and conduct post-implementation evaluations.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to team members, promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and effective resource management at the project level.
- Instruct, direct, and review the output of functional project teams or regional/local project managers.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, IT, or a related field, with a specialization in Project Management (technical certification, postgraduate degree, or PMP equivalent).
- 6+ years of experience managing complex projects, with a proven track record of consistent results and the use of formal project management methodologies.
- Project Management certification (Agile methodologies, PMP, or similar) with demonstrated application experience.
- Strong expertise in end-to-end Finance processes (RTR, OTC, PTP, Cost Accounting), preferably within BPO or shared services environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across different organizational levels.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a strong focus on innovation and results.
- Strong awareness of external trends and project management best practices.
- Experience with automated Project Management tools and a digital mindset is an advantage.
- Capacity for conceptual thinking with a cross-functional and cross-process approach.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken) is required (minimum B2+).
- Intermediate Portuguese and/or French is a plus.
